Registration

Registration opens at 10.30am on Thursday 14th June. This is a ticketless event, please arrive and report to the registration desk. In order to cut down on plastic waste, please bring a water bottle - there will be water refill stations available throughout the conference. Please note that the venue is not equipped with air conditioning. We are not anticipating a heatwave, but do bear this in mind.

Filming and photography

We will be capturing film and visuals from the conference which will be used on the CPP website.

Ramadan and Eid 

There will be a room available on both days for any delegates wishing to spend time in quiet private prayer and reflection.

Evening meal and Entertainment

The conference dinner will take place from 7pm-10.30pm on Thursday 14th June, in The Courtyard of Light House. This will involve a curry evening, stand-up comedy from Masai Graham and music and dancing from Manos Pa'ariba. Please note this event is now fully booked. 

Venue

Light House is the Black Country’s only independent cinema, plus galleries and a cafe bar, set within the Victorian Architecture of The Chubb Buildings.

Light House is a charity and arts venue which aims to increase the enjoyment and understanding of technologically-based media, in particular film, video, photography and creative media, and to emphasise their importance to the cultural, social and economic life of Wolverhampton, the West Midlands and further afield. People, Place, Power will also make use of The Slade Rooms (opposite Light House) for talks, workshops and the Unconference space.

Volunteers

People Place Power will be staffed by a group of remarkable volunteers from Wolverhampton University, Hull University, Audience Agency and individuals interested in CPP practice. 

Accessibility

All spaces are wheelchair accessible and in Light House both cinema auditoria are fitted with deaf induction loops. Guide dogs are welcome in both venues. Disabled parking can be found in Broad Street car park, Railway Street car park and Fryer Street car park. These are all within 100yds of the venue.

Premier Inn or Novotel offer reasonably priced accommodation within walking distance of Light House and Wolverhampton rail station.

Light House is situated within The Chubb Buildings in Wolverhampton city centre just 2 minutes walk from Wolverhampton rail station and 5 minutes walk from the Metro station and city centre bus stops. There is no car parking at the venue. Download the City Centre car parking map here.
